To match the premium industrial design of the Expleco GLC2 product, the electronic controller needed to be reliable and have the look and feel of a high end unit.
In addition to the new product R&D, Expleco were also after a business who could not only design the product but could provide local engineering support, and prototype manufacture.
The solution
Main Controller
- High contrast backlit LCD screen
- Easy to operate tactile buttons
- Safety interlock system which is doubly reductant
Control Box
The control box was mounted next to the motor, key features included;
- Safety isolate high voltage mains from the low voltage main controller
- Measure motor current to detect a stalled/overloaded motor
Future developments
The development of next generation products is important to Expleco. Protronix’s involvement with this company is ongoing. Recently they have approached us to investigate methods to measure the volume of the glass particles inside the storage container. On behalf of Expleco, Protronix provided test support to evaluate the trade-offs of different measurement technologies.
